Does anyone know the part number for the pilot bushing to use when you have a engine that was for an automatic trans. I am putting a stock 4 speed trans in the car. The engine is out of a 69 charger 383, I am putting it in our 68 RR with the orginal 4 speed.The parts stores in town don't seem to get it.

Here is a tech article from bigblock dart it talks about the roller bearing for the auto convertor hub in the cranks not drilled for 4 speeds. I believe you will have to shorten your input shaft if the crank has not been drilled for the 4 speed. The bearing number in the article is BCA # FC69907. Both, Dorman and the Napa stores used to make a 5 thousands undersized bushing. The cranks are usually drilled, just not finished and these will usually do the trick. Don't cut the input shaft if you don't have to.


Restoring a car to look "only" as good as the factory made it is like getting a boob job for your wife and having the doctor make them two different sizes to seem more natural
