I need some ideas on how to get it to hook.
This is the best time slip to date:

60' 2.056
330 5.343
1/8 7.828
mph 99.96
1000 9.951
1/4 11.743
mph 125.8

Mt et drag radials 295/60-15 on 10" rim 10psi this run
calvert mono's +1" arc @ stiffest spring rate
calvert/rancho 9 way adjustable.set @ 7
3.73 gear 727 9" turbo action converter
1 turn pre-load on the home made caltrac bars.

Never hooks at start. spins until about 500 ft mark then hooks until finish line.

What will a lighter rate rear spring segment do?

I was thinking of sending the converter in to tighten it up.

Any ideas?

Not enough air pressure in the tires.

How much does the car seperate on the launch....

To say is spins for 500 feet says it makes a ton of power...

I started @ 18 psi. As I kept lowering pressure the 60' improved. 2.4 60' @ 18 psi.

I dont think it separates at all. just spins.
I have never recorded a launch on video.
spectators have mentioned it just spins half way down the track.

I'll say it again.......90% OF MAKING ONE HOOK IS IN THE FRONT END.........and you never mentioned one thing about your front end........

What do you have and how's it set up?

BTW.........125 is enough to run 10.50's.......and when you finally get it To 60 foot good, it'll pick up at least 2MPH, so it'll run at least 127, which is enough to run 10.30's.......

If you can't handle the truth, you're living a lie.......

The front end has 5" of travel.
318 torsion bars.
calvert 90/10 shocks
Bondo Bob upper arms with heim joints and afco ball joints

i can eaisly jounce front end by hand.

with the shocks on the rear suspension it is very stiff and appears not to move at all. with the rear shocks removed i can jounce it by hand.

What lower control arm bushings? Heim joint strut rods? or does it have rubber or poly bushings at the front of the strut rods?

Does the car still sit like this?

If so, it appears to sit a little high in the rear for instant, right at the hit, weight transfer IMHO......Ideally the rear would be down farther so it's sits basically level.......

I've had the best luck with drag radials by stalling the car up to about 3,500, then let off the brake, and as soon as you can feel the car even move one inch, you can mat it........I've got a car that runs 10.90's @ 122 like that.......If I just floor it right off the bat, it blows the tires off...... but, the car has 17" Drag Radials and sits pretty low, so the Center of Gravity is pretty low.......

On drag radials, an EXTREMELY loose front end combined with a CG as high as you can stand is the key.........

If you can't handle the truth, you're living a lie.......

Yes this is how it sits now

I think i will try a thinner rear leaf segment from calvert.
Should lower it about 1/2 to 1".

Any lower and tire clearance will be an issue.

I should have went with the 275/60-15 mt drag radials. I could then set the rear height much lower.

If I raise the front end, I will loose the 5" of travel?

soften the rear shocks

if the track is not really good you want to soften them up.

For a test you could put them on full soft and see it the car raises like a car with SS springs.

Then add a couple clicks to slow down seperation.

I agree with Josh you dont have enuff air in your tires as well.

I can try the rancho's on the #1 setting

Do you think a lower leaf spring rate would help?

How much tire pressure?

Yeah, I forgot to add to set the rear shocks as soft as possible.........

What strut rods do you have? What lower control arm bushings?

I think you said that when the shocks are full soft the rear of the car will bounce freely....Right....

IF so your spring is fine.

When I had cal tracs on my challenger I set the bars just touching with me in the car.

It has poly lower bushings, the struts are however stock with a hard rubber biscuit.

I can not move the rear end at all, even at #1 setting. If I remove the shocks the rear end will move freely a couple of inches.

The rear segments of the monos are the thickest calvert sells .500". I think the stock calvert mono's are .437" or .375".
