OOTB is there a preferential intake for a street driven 500+ cube engine? My concern is over mixture distribution under part throttle/cruising conditions. Along the same lines would a Dominator, or similar 1:1 linkage carb help things out? Thanks Curt
Oh yeah...THAT'S gonna leave a mark!

We run the Ray Barton piece with a annular 950 demon 4150, and distribution has been awesome on it. I was really surprised. All the plugs were perfectly tan and even. I have never seen anything like it on a hemi in a sigle four intake. The engine is 477 cubes and 10.5:1 with a mild mechanical cam.
Ran 11.1 at 121.7 at a 4010lbs race weight in the '70 Charger street car. 60ft was 1.58...and 7.00 in the 1/8th. The annualr downleg boosters help with part throttle and make the carb more sensative to minor changes in velocity.

FWIW, I really like my Stage V dual 4 set up with two 600 AVS carbs. I find it very responsive and the fuel distribution is awesome. All the plugs are the same color. It was enough to make 658Hp at 6500rpm. Plus it fits under the hood and there is an readily available air cleaner.
I ran the MP single four unit. It had terrible distribution (some too lean, some to rich)

Using my Stage V piece with questionable carbs I definitly have a distribution problems. Part throttle, average A/F is 13.9 or so and it is missfiring on several cylinders. Not looking for a diagnosis, I know several cylinders are lean under light load. Yes looking for simplicity, although 2 fours may or may not produce more power, I want drivability. Thanks Curt
