I have a 528 Hemi with cnc ported MP alum heads by MCH. I ran the MP repro crossram with the correct 770 Holleys. I kept having intake sealing problems and idle issues and just got tired of trying to make it work and sold it and bought the Mancini kit w factory 2x4 intake with Edelbrock 625 cfm AFB's. The idle quality and overall driveability on the street improved by about 200% and this is a street/strip car that is 90% street. The down side is that it feels about 50 horses light, it really went down noticibly above 4500 rpm. One thing I know is that the head ports are about a 1/4 " bigger than the intake, port matching is in order. Plenum mods, porting, 750's instead of the 625's? I will be transplanting this engine into my wifes cuda w/Shaker hood, so will be sticking to this intake. Any suggestions appreciated.

Talk to Dave Dudek, he runs the FAST 9 second Road Runner with a stock dual 4 inline setup. Too bad you already bought the EB setup, unless the wife's Hemi Cuda has a custom Air cleaner base those carbs won't work, the top openings are too big. If you ever decide to go with clone Street Hemi carbs for that setup (which use the same EB bases and provide just as much fuel) I can help you.

Lee you can run the Stage 5 intake under a shaker and I am pretty sure there is a shaker adaptor for this set up. the stage 5 will get you back the 50HP

I had a Cuda(the LSD Cuda) at the shop that ran the stage V intake. We had a custom base made up and everything fit nicely. Looked great. I did have to do some creative work on the fuel lines, but it wasn't any big deal.

While I never dynoed it, I bet it's worth a significant amount over the stocker. Mods to the stock intake usually incorporate a Vanke mod that is taken to the next level.

All true, and sounds great........Until you price out the larger base plate, last time I checked they were around $800.00

Thanks for the replies! I have a shaker hood for my wifes cuda, but will have to buy all the other parts aftermarket. It would probably be cheaper to buy the stage 5 intake than do all the mods needed to the stocker. I have heard mixed reviews about the Vanke mod, is it more than cutting the plenum divider down? Any drawbacks to doing it? Also,Scott how do you feel about replacing the 625's with 750's. The twin 770's were not too much, so I wonder if I am undercarbureted. I may drop Mr. Dudek a line to see what it would take to make the stock manifold viable.

Most Street driven Hemi's don't need anything bigger than a pair of 600 EB's, even big strokers, In your case you can likely go either way and be fine. That being said if ultimate HP is the goal the 750's have more potential, what would work best all boils down to your entire combo and what fuel needs your engine has. I think a worked over factory inline intake and a pair of well tuned 750's would probably give you what you are looking for, ask Dave what he thinks, he's about as good as they come when it comes to working with that setup. I build the clones on either size carb so the choice is yours.

I would agree. When you understand that each carburetor is only responsible to carry a load of half the total HP. If the engine is making, say, 650 horse, then each one is only responsible for 325. Most any decent 4V carb can carry that load.
