Here's a shot taken in front of a motel at the 1982 Mopar Nationals in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

This picture is from a meet from 1982 that the Winged Warriors (this was actually back in the day when the name of the club was NASCAR Street Classics...NASCAR put the ol' kebosh on that a few years later) and the Daytona-Superbird Auto Club and held at a Dodge dealership somewhere in Indiana.

Here's a shot from the 1984 Mopar Nationals which was held in the infield of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The black Charger 500 in the picture is believed to be Moparts member GTX4Spd's car.

Those pics of that conv. bird might be from Sweden.The bird is owned by a couple living in Denmark.I have read several stories about that car in Swedish & Finnish magazines.
I remember that they used to claim that this conv. Superbird is REAL.Actually it is not even a real bird...

Here's a pic with an interesting story. This is from a meet held in Indianapolis in 1982. That is Danny's dad Duane's Charger 500 at the front of the group as it is getting ready to do a parade lap down the track. Duane didn't get to do that lap though as Danny decided that he wanted to fall down a nearby drainage ditch right around the time this pic was taken and cut his arm to the bone. Duane drove the Charger 500 at radical speeds across Indianapolis to get a very young (and bleeding) Danny to the hospital. I think Danny was like 4 or 5 years old at the time. Bet that taught him not to play around drainage ditches!!!

Hemi_K, thanks for clearing that up! I knew it was somewhere in Europe and have also seen it on some web pages. I remember hearing that they thought the car was the real deal too.

Here's a shot of Danny's dad Duane's Hemi Charger 500 at a wing meet at the Chrysler Electrical plant. The green and black Daytona behind the 500 us now Dan Gaddis' K&K Insurance street replica.

Here's a pic from a wing meet at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That's Danny's dad Duane's Hemi Charger 500 in the middle. Also in the pic is one of Dave Jones' Daytonas and a silver Daytona S.E. that was out of Illinois at the time. And how about that yellow Bird with the red trim on the nose cone!

This shot is dated 1981 but Danny doesn't know where this one was shot at. Cool pic! Check out that gold Daytona. Where is this car today?

And finally we have this shot which shows a very unusual steering wheel in a Superbird. Danny says he hasn't seen many Birds with this wheel and I, personally, have never seen this type of wheel in a Bird. Pretty cool huh?

Thanks a ton for posting those pics for me John. The steering wheel on that bird, is off of a car that was up in Michigan back in 1981. however the back of the picture only says that, "superbird, Michigan" then its dated 10/81.
I'll have to look and see but i know that I have quite a few more pics of the Daytona SE that was in Illinois the A4 one that is. I always loved that car, as i always liked the silver cars. I remember going to look at it when it was for sale, and my dad passed on the car to buy another Superbird instead. Man i wanted the silver Daytona not the Yellow 6 pac 4 speed bird, but oh well. I was only 7 then.
A side note here, I was only 3 might have just turned 4 years old in 1982 depending on when in the year the meet was.

Okay i think that i have figured out this whole posting pictures thing. I am going to post a pic of my dads B5 blue daytona. It was gunmetal grey, and red in this pic however, but a factory B5 blue, 4 speed car.

Does anybody have pics of or know what happened to the original Petty race superbird that is supposed to be inside some guys house?
