Does anyone know the weight of a TRW/ Speed Pro L2316 forged with 2 valve relief piston for a .030 340? I need to replace my 2322's which are a 13:1 piston but they've been milled down alot. it was a 12:1 motor with 62cc milled J heads that was run on pump gas and the pistons got fried. I'm looking into the 2316's to lower compression into the pump gas range with a good size cam to bleed off a little pressure so thes look like a good choice. I want something faily close to the weight of mine to save on ballancing time and costs.

I would greatly appriciate it if you could, are they standard or .030 over? I serched the net and someone said they were 735 plus pin(154) and another said the NHRA book says there in the mid 600's, but I couldnt find 2 answeres that were even close to the same.

The TRW catalog says 720 for standard and 735 for .030" over. Pin is 154.

Wow thats heavy!!!! I have a set of 2322's now thats are originally a high dome 13:1 piston. I heard that the 2322's were in the 800's stock, the ones in my 340 were milled down to where they stick out .120 on the dome and .030 on the top above the valve reliefs so I think the block was milled a little. In any case I just picked up a gram scale and the 2322's I have are 637 grams with the clips and the pin is 154 grams.

So can if a 2316 is 735 grams, can enough be taken off to weigh 637? Have a hard time believing mine are less then the 2316's!!!!!
I'd love to be able to get the pistons weighing the same.

TRWs have traditionally been among the heaviest pistons available. I prefer JE, Ross, SRP, or Wiseco.
