There was a post recently about a member having brake issues that eventually were traced back to his new reproduction proportioning valve.. The internal clearance was to tight & the spool valve seized in the valve block.... Take your old valve apart & refurbish it...
Ohhhhh.....thats some good info there!!! I was about to order a few of those E Body units!!!! glad I didnt do so!!
But how do you refurbish those old units? Does anybody sell a service kit or something? When looking at my Factory service manual it says that the units are not serviceable and that you have to order a complete new unit. I wonder if somebdoyt sells servuce kits nowadays.

All thats inside is a spool valve, a spring & a couple "O"rings... Take it apart match up the "O"rings & Soda Blast the valve block....
And do the oring need to be of any special material? They will be in contact with brake fluid which is NASTY stuff. I doubt any O ring will survive in there?

Yup, I am running into that problem now with the one in my 69 charger. The original one I got did not let the fluid back into the master cyl and caused the rear brakes to lock up. They sent me another one and that lasted a couple years before it is doing the same thing.
