I've just recieved a set of the Year One Repro Big Block cast manifolds.
They have a grey coating on them.
Is this a heatproof coating or is it just some paint to stop them rusting before fitting?
Thank You
Simon

I put a set on my buddy's Charger. I think it's just a rust inhibitor. I'm sure Yearone would say so if they were coated.

The coating on the two set that we used melted right off. Save some time and coat them properly before you install them.

I've had mine on the car over a year and they still look like new. Paper work that came with the manifolds said they were coated. I drove the car a lot this summer and no problems no peeling discoloration or rust. Still look like the day i put them on.

Doug,
The manifolds on your car still look great.Have they seen any rain?
Also that's a fine looking engine bay you have there.
I'm looking to do a nice 'stock looking' engine bay on my car.Any tips or sources of information please?
Thank You
Simon
