Just curious, Why does Edelbrock carbs. require a float setting of 7/16 when my old Carter afb of 12
years wants a float setting of 5/16? All the times I pull off the top of my AVS 650 carb. it always looks as though there isn't enough fuel to get into the accelerator pump well. Could all the issues with Edelbrock and there hesitations ect...
be the cause of a too low of float setting? And has anyone re-adjusted those settings to say 3/8 or so and the car ran better? My other question is, I want to put a new fuel pump on my 69 superbee 383 but factory calls for a pump with 3 1/2 - 5 psi that is fine for the stock 335 hp but now I am running around 375. I would like to buy a pump with anywhere from 4 1/2-6 psi. What does Edelbrock recommend not, going over? Is it 6 psi? I want it to look factory and be a Carter fuel pump. I know the 440hp back in 69-70 were rated at 5-7 1/2 psi. My main problem is when I am running at 40 mph and slam it down into 3rd and tromp on it the secondarys kick open but it just doesn't want to go. Tech at Edelbrock suggested going from .098 jets in the sec. to .100. Seeing I
had to go from stock .068x.047 rods to .065-.042 to get it to run better. Suggestions??

6 psi will be fine but that's not the hesitation when you punch it .
