I had a similar combo years ago and found through testing that a bigger carb netted better et's. I went from a 750 to 950hp.

I went 11.20@ 119 in a 3500 lbs Challenger so I would guess you would run similar to that, maybe a touch slower because of your gearing.

It sure run well though!

6.90s/80s.

My dart had a very similar setup, but with ported w2's and a flat tappet cam. It ran 7.30s in the 1/8 at 95mph, and 11.30s in the 1/4 at 118.

7.35 no bottle

7.40 with the 750. 7.20's with a 950 jetted right.

It better be making more than 500hp considering the cam/head flow.

If it does, it should run 7.00 and possibly into the 6's as long as your 60's pick up into the 1.4 range.

MPH should be in the high 90's, 98-99ish.

Those heads are going to be the problem...

i would be happy with anything in the 7,s,i dont know what rpm to launch at or shift at, thats why im doing this test/tune,should be fun, has alot more power than the old tired 318 i had in there,phil i will be at the track at 5:00 or so,dakuda what is the problem with the heads?

Nothing "wrong". I tried a set ported and stock. I thought they were running good then put a set of box stock Eddys on and was blown away how much better they ran with no work. I just think that stroke will want a better head. Still will be a great/fun engine. Save your money and run what you have for now.

By the way, when you have some extra money....RPM AirGap. You will be amazed!

I'll say 7 teens sorted out, it will need more carb IMHO. Don't let anyone fool you, the X-Celerator is a good intake. I went 7.20s in a 3240# Dart with a stock stroke 340 on pump gas with a hydraulic cam. The 3.91 gears will be fine, your motor should be a torque monster. I'd shift it around 5800- 6000 rpms if it were mine.

4.30 gers ran ok in my old 416 cuda but the 3.91 gears ran faster with a qwuiker ET. about a tenth and a couple MPH...Phill

no trailer, this truck is street driven to the track about 35 miles.hopefully the weather holds out friday,heavy rains here today in ny.

6.96 at 99 mph

i ran a best of 7.311@94.73 ,60FT was 1.62,launching at 2000,shift at 6000.i also ran 7.35@94.31 ,7.32@94.3 ,7.315@94.55 i dropped the tire pressure down to 18 psi and ran it just like i do on the street,9sec phil was down there also,gave me some tips.thanks phil,

For the record, the track is up on a mountain, he will/would run at least a tenth faster " down off the mountain". A little tuning, some more carb and I bet its 11.10's. Not bad for a truck with factory iron heads. The 60's definately hurt the overall ET, but its not a dedicated race vehicle either. Good job first time out.

Great results. Anytime you can drive it to the track and run those kind of numbers, you should be very very happy. Great job!

Very good run. Its almost identical to what my 63 runs. Its a driver also and my best 1/8 is 7.28 @ 94 mph and the 1/4 on that pass was 11.49 @ 116. You are easy 11.50's right now. Thats a good running combo. Ron

thanks ron,nice car you have there.yes i need bigger carb,little shorter tire height.these are m/t 295/65-15(29.5"tall) et street radial,probably go to a 325/50-15 or 275/60-15 a( 27.5"tire)this should help the gearing off the line.
