Hello I have this 2000 Neon/2.0, the #3 cylinder has low compression compared to the rest..getting a code also..need to run through inspection by the end of the month yea 2 more days..

the timing belt and water pump where replaced,I did the work and the timing belt was not broke completely just the teeth, and I have been driving it like this for almost a year now, but inspection time...

Any suggestions on how to get the compression up or do I have to pull the head...

You probably bent a valve when the belt went south. You will end up having to pull the head at least. Driving it that way for as long as you have didn't help it any and may end up costing you a bunch depending on any damage done to the head.

Probably a bent valve but you could run a wet test on that cylinder to verify if it's a ring issue or not.

How many miles on that timing belt just out of curiosity ?

There's about 6000 miles on the timing belt

I always apply 50lbs or so air pressure to the affected cylinder with the piston at TDC on the compression stroke and listen for the escaping air. It will tell you what to look for when you pop the head, which will probably be necessary.

Master, again and still
