I have to replace the spring mounts on my Dana, as a former owner had moved them for a drag car. I need someone with a loose E-Body Dana who can both take some pictures and give me some dimensions for setting the spring mount pieces in place for welding.
PM me or answer to thread.

Thanks

Those were done on a jig at the factory.
What you may want to do is bolt in your springs in the location you want them using the correct front hangers and correct shackles. Set your Dana on the springs with the Spring mounts under them, bolt the housing down with your u bolts and after you put weight on the springs, check your pinion angle. When you have everything correct, tack weld the spring cups to the housing. This way you will have the rear end centered left and right correctly and the pinion angle will be correct so you do not have to run spring shims.
Try to use someone other than the mopar spring cups as the hole in them is way too big for the spring bolts. Your rear end could be off because of this. Not sure why Mopar aftermarket cups have such a large hole in them.

Use Moroso spring perches. They are identical to the original passenger car Dana 60 versions.

1. Place the rearend UPSIDE DOWN on jack stands.

2. Put a floor jack under the yoke.

3. Pump the floor jack until the yoke slopes 7 degrees TOWARD THE GROUND. Verify with a magnetic angle finder.

4. Level the spring perches and weld at 46" on center.

Thanks for the feedback. I saw the tech archives detail that gets close to what I was looking for. This is additional help.
I may PM or call you with additional questions.
I have a set of the Chrysler spring perches and they also have 3 holes in them and I recall that the originals only have the one hole on center, correct? Best place to get the Moroso versions? Any Speed Shop?
Thanks again.

Summit, Jegs and Mancini all carry Moroso perches.
