I am replacing the drier on 71 b body, stock a/c system. Auto Zone, O'reilly, Advance Auto and Napa are all selling the same drier, which has too large of a hole for the proper cutoff switch to be installed on the drier.

Each of the stores lists a cutoff switch for my car, but these switches do not fit the driers listed for the car.

Ideas??

Thanks

Have you checked with places like Classic Auto Air? If they don't have your part, I know one of them offers a service to rebuild your original drier.

thanks for the response. Yes, I did check them out, and they could solve the problem.

But, being a little slow sometimes, I figured out this morning that all I need to do is use the other port on the other side of the drier for my switch fitting.

I will just paint the brass fitting in the other side black to hide it a little.

These guys are good too. http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/

Great prices, lots of info and free shipping. I used them to get the biggest condensor that would fit in my 26" e-body radiator openning (17" by 27 1/2" including the width with the aluminum line curving up to the reciever/drier). The price was lower than anywhere else for 134a style condensor and the quality is high. I had them mount and install the reciever dryer and plumb an aluminum line to it, all for $140 something.
