I need to change the intake manifold gasket on my '67 Fury 318. I have changed these before and I seem to remember on a couple of instances, the gaskets on the ends would slide out after a while creating oil leaks. I used to use the old time Permatex (a thin coat) but I am looking for some ideas to prevent this from happening. Someone once told me to use trim cement I think. Thanks for any info here.

I'd suggest tossing the supplied end gaskets and using a wide carefully placed swath of clear silicone and pull any locating dowel pins and clean the end surfaces b 4 the silicone and letting it set up overnight. I'd use some gasket cement (not silicone) sparingly on the side gaskets (both sides & esp on the front water ports) (critical if using tin metal ones)
