hey everybody i just moved to colorado, my tires are beginning to wear. Coming into the snowy season i was wondering if i should do 2 or 4 tires that are the "studded" snow tire?

also ive found some used tires that are, 225 / 60R17 / 99T on rims that he says were on a 300 before. just wondering if these would fit?

im a restraunt server with a fairly limited income, so any advice comments would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if it would respond well with 70 or 75 series tires for winter, and some sandbags in the trunk.

if it were mine, i would get another set of wheels[cheepy hubcaps too if needed] and mount up a set of 70, or 75 series tires. the narrower foot print will cut thru the snow a ton better than a wide, 60 series tire will. this works super in pa. winters, so you should expect similar results where you are, although i believe you get more snow there.

what model 300 is it? IIRC the 300C and perhaps the touring that come standard with 18's won't fit the 17" rims.

and aspect ratio doesn't have anything to do with width....

anyhoo, the 2nd rims, if you want a good, inexpensive snow, look at cooper weathermaster ST2's. go 4 snows, the fronts steer and do 70% of the braking, so it's important they have good grip, too.

if you need new all seasons, look at nokians

http://www.nokiantires.com/

their all seasons (WGR2, etc) are as good in the snow as a studless dedicated snow....
