instigator OP super stock I Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 1,090 north cakalaky	My buddy who I let get my old 8 3/4 has a dilema...he roasted the pinion bearing in the 489 case and damaged the gears...he bought some used 4.88 gears and just realized they are 742 gears....is there some way to shim up the 742 gears in the 489 case...realize the 489 uses a crush sleeve...he's trying to get it going for a grudge race tomorrow night at the track....any help would be appreciated. 65 Barracuda All aluminum Indy HEMI with some boost!
