Ready to fire up my freshly built 340 in my challenger, however the clutch linkage and throwout fork are still not installed, also the driveshaft is off the car. Anybody see a problem with this?? Would i be damaging anything by doing it??

You primed the enigine's oiling system first, right?

Is the trans in place?

Only thing I can think of, is that with no shaft in the car, you may lose some transmission oil out the rear. Worse if you've got the rear of the car down somewhat. Make sure there's oil in the trans, and put one of your wife's cookie sheets under there.

Ya the tranny is in, but i forgot that the oil will spill out with out the driveshaft in place. I guess i could wait, but i wont be done for a long time. Its kind of a personal stepping stone in my first restoration project, ya know...?

IO don't think the throwout bearing would be happy flopping around in there.
