received a slap in the face today. Had this engine rebuilt professionally three hundred miles ago and it froze up on me this morning while idling. Should this guy be responsible for makeing it right?

a little over 300 hundred miles since over haul, changed oil three times, I'm 61 years old and don't do burn outs, have not had the car past 3000 rpm or 65 miles per hour

Define "froze up" so we're all on the same page: did it just stop running, and you weren't able to fire back up? What does the starter do when you try to fire it up? Does the crank turn at all?

the engine was making a funny noise so we put it on the hoist to get a better idea. At an idle it made a high pitch squeal and stopped running. At this point it will not turn over. The guy working with me feels it is a spun bearing.

I'd pull the oil filter and see what you find inside it. That does sound like the mains spun, after the filter take a look at the oil pump, I bet it's locked up.
