Years ago I had a guy that cut the groove and put whitewall on tires for the car dealers do mine, and he applied the red dye after the white dye. They looked ok, but if you got certain cleaning chemicals on them they turned dark, and also heat and age darkened them. I gave it up. I don't even know if any of these guys still have the equipment, or do it anymore. I would not recommend it anyway.
