I purchased a car that previously used motor plate for mounting and I was thinking of doing the same since the mounting for the std mounts were cut off the K frame. What is the good or bad with motor plate mounting? The pic is with the engine in the car I believe the mounts are from Jegs. I bought the car as a roller.

The good is that the engine is held rigidly in place and as much torque as possible is applied as quickly as possible to the rest of the drivetrain. The bad is that it puts a lot of twisting strain on a unibody.

I see a light at the end of the tunnel, and it's... ELECTROLUMINESCENT!

I never ran the motor plates so I need all the input on them. I am trying not having to replace the K-frame.

With the plate, a fore and aft limiter is a good idea. The plate has a lot of strength left to right but will flex front to back.

Good info to think about.
