Has anyone used either product? I am looking at a product to convert and protect some floor surface rust and something to protect the insides of my doors etc.

Thanks in Advance

My gripe with Rust Bullet is that paint does not stick as well to it as I would like.

I used POR15 at one time.
I now use Zero Rust, Moparts member Resto Rick is a dealer.
I never tried Rust Bullet.

no, it is quite different. POR is thicker and dries glossier. POR likes humidity, Rust Bullet doesn't.

I have used both and I now do the following:
If brushing: POR-15
If spraying: Rust Bullet. POR always %^$# up my gun.

You have to scuff it before painting. I use the hell out of Rust Bullet and their tech guys use my shop as a reference. Best paint I've found, and I swear by it!!

por 15 is great but its time consuming and requires proper prep otherwise it'll flake off

Another Zero Rust user here. Thinned 3:1 w/ acetone and 2-3 thin coats. Sprays very well dries rock hard.

Or... Duro Extend. True rust conversion coating. Goes on "creamy", dries black. Locally available. Spray or brush versions.

Will add my vote for Zero Rust. Very easy to work with.

I found a product locally, that I am going to give a go.
http://www.kbs-coatings.com/

The sampler pack is $33 Aud, Rust Bullet is pretty darn expensive over here. I only have a small area to use it on for now.

Thanks for the replies

I've used POR 15 twice now and have had zero problems. Prep is the key. This time I had the car sandblasted and wanted something tough to seal up the underside. They main thing is to wait until it is tacky and "fog" primer onto it. Let the POR dry for the 4 hours or whatever it was and prime it. It turned out great, no peeling or any other problems.
This is after the first coat.
