Hi guys,
I'm new to the board, and I would like some advice. I'm thinking of building a 408 stroker based on a 360 to go into my 1970 challenger. It's now equipped with the factory 318. I upgraded that a few years ago with a slightly faster cam and a four barrel intake.
The goal I'm after is a very docile engine with lots of torque to cruise around on the narrow streets of the Netherlands. I don't want it to be a nervous hi revving engine since I won't be taking it down the strip.
Antother thing to metion is that I hate headers and I will be running original 1970 340 HP exhaust manifolds and ported "915" J-heads with 2.02 and 1.60 valves.
Is this do-able or is a stroker kit overkill because of the somewhat restrictive heads and manifolds. As mentioned it doesn't have to be a hi-revving racing engine but an engine with plenty of torque that's easy to cruise with.
I'm running a four speed with a 3.23 sure-grip rear-end.
I saw an add on ebay for this kit, anyone done business with this guy. Would the quality be any good?
Thanks, Antoon
