It's more about the cost savings and running cooler for me. anything else is just a bonus.
That is a good way to look at it.
Race gas is expensive, so the savings adds up fast if you race regularly.
Enjoy!
As far as guessing ET improvement, tells us more about your combo and what it ran on gas. CR Old carb type/size Old fuel (race gas or pump gas, etc.) ET, sixty etc.

What are you guy predicting off when using E85
Al
On mine I ran exactly the same but since then I changed a few things... when I put that engine back in come this spring with a couple degrees more timing it should be quicker

I cleared my Tag weather station/predictor and started fresh... once I get a few rounds in it then its got a base... I could expect it to run the same ET or maybe a .1 less than gas till you start to fine tune it then it should go maybe a .1 quicker(maybe more)

most programs are either gas or methanol.
I don't have any expensive predictor. Just my temp and humidity gauge ($15) and my log book for comparison. With the injected Flying Toilet and E85, ET doesn't change much with weather on the same day. Oil temp and trans temp are just as important if I think about changing the dial-in by 0.01, 0.03 on the same day would be a lot of change for me.

with crew chief pro I can switch between gas or methanol. two different prediction setups with the same software. Just don't know what this fuel acts more like.
For right now I think you can use the gas choice... then later you might find a % difference... but like I said earlier that it will most likely show the same ET as gas then with enough runs you should see a % of difference... but like Jim said and I see it also, I didnt change more than a .01 for 2 days of racing unless the weather really changed
