I'm lookin for ideas on temp switches. I need a temp switch that operates at 195 and another that operates at around 205 or so

Why so close together on the temps?

You could install two of these in tandem and use one for the 195 and the other for the 205-210. Plus, they're adjustable, so if you realize that arrangement isn't the best, you can change the temps.

They're relatively cheap and they utilize a thermal probe instead of a thread in sensor. Although, Hayden offers the same thing with a thread in sensor.

It's a bit more wiring (the unit needs 12V and a ground to activate it's relay), but then you'd just run the Common of the relay to ground, and the NO contact of it to your Volvo controller for speed1 and speed2.

Your other option is to get thread in sensors. Con with that is that you might have a hard time finding a spot for two sensors so they are both in the same range and area. Pro with that is less wiring.

Guess I'm a little unfamiliar in this dept....My mechanical gauge seems to show the truck operating
at around 195 to 205 degrees, so i figured htats where it needed to be... I can get a VW two stage switch, that activates stage one around 195 +/- 3 degreees, and stage around 220??

A 195 switch will have the fan on alot of the time.

I'd stay away from the Hayden 3647. I have two of them on the bench in my shop that have malfunctioning controllers out of the box. Both have the same issue; the 86 blade where the relay plugs in gets ~10.5 vdc when the yellow wire (ign on) is energized. The problem here is that the 86 blage is supposed to be the ground for the switch side of the relay!

I'm going to put in a call to Hayden to see if they will sort things out tomorrow. Stay tuned!
