Anyone have any advice on installing these in a '70 Dart? Pictures would be great. I didn't take pics when I pulled it all apart and am regretting that about now...

Rick, what did you need to know?

They screw in before installing the windows/gasket.

Look at the clip and figure how to mount it so the trim snaps in. One screw attachment, dead center.

There may be some clips that are wider than others, IIRC, those run along the top/bottom. I may have a car here I could look at to help.

I wasn't positive about installing them before the windshield. Now that I know they need to go in first I can get them all in before the windshield installer comes out tomorrow.

Any tricks as far as the order of re-installing the trim?

Here's a more specific question. My new clip set comes with two styles for the windshield.

One clip has a bit of a gap between the spring clip and the car's body the other has it's spring clip flush with the body.

Both are the same width and the same height.

Which goes where??

I'd like to know too. Can't find an answer anywhere.

I know all of them around here want the clips on the car when they get there. They aren't hard to figure out where they go, you just fit them where they are almost level with the top of the frame when you set them in the bottom of the frame. Just take your time and it will work out, i just got thru doing the front and back window in my RR. Good Luck! Ronnie in Okla.

Rick, I used the longer clips on the A pillar top and bottom holes. I had the other style clips there and could not clip the moldings in.

BTW, I goofed on the install date. The window tinter came yesterday and applied tint to the rear window and did the windows on another car we own. The glass installer wasn't scheduled to come out until tomorrow. It had been so long since I made the appointments I forget there were two separate installers

When I had my windshield installed in my 69 RR, the glass guy who was old enough to know did not know that you have to seal the back of the bottom of the gasket to the cowl nor did he know to seal it to the flanges on the side and the top. He was just going to set the gasket where it goes dry and urethane the glass into the bead. I showed him the directions in the service manual and he kind of gave in. He was insulted that I objected to his plan. He used so much urethane around the glass that I spent well over an hour scraping it neatly with razor blades inside and outside. I wonder if Resto Rick has a proper windshield
installation kit?

Glass installer showed up today without a windshield gasket. I specifically asked if they were bringing one when I made the appointment three weeks ago, and again two days ago when they called to confirm the appointment. I ordered a gasket from Dante's and it will be here on Wednesday. I have another appointment to install the windshield a week from today.

I know what's another week after three years.... Thing is I was sooo looking forward to having it behind me with just a front end alignment between me and the first time at the track.

At least the rear window is installed and looking fine
