Rebuilt tranny, all rods adjusted right but it only will start off the key some times. Does this sound like the switch is bad? It is kinda embarrassing to have to raise the hood and use the temp. button on a restored car. Any info. will be helpfull. Thanks Ronnie

have you tested the switch? when the car is in park or neutral, there should be continuity from the center terminal on the switch to ground. Also check to see if the reverse lights work.

I had a bad one out of the box before.

I know the back-up lites don't work. I took a jumper on the wires and they came on. Ronnie

There are reports that aftermarket NSS's are too long, this would affect the BU lights but shouldn't affect the Neutral start.

When it won't start have you tried it in both Park and Neutral? Next time it won't start try holding the switch in Start while jiggling the shifter.

I have wiggled the shifter and moved it to neutral and park and some times it will crank but most of the time not. I got this switch at NAPA so I went back today and got another one so I'll get it changed out and see if that fixes it. I'll let you know how it works. Ronnie

OK! I got the switch changed out and every thing works now, it is about time. It was # NS6562 in the NAPA brand that fixed it. Thanks for all the help. Ronnie in Okla.
