There were only two issues with them, that required tweaking. I'd like to say within the next three months,or sooner.

No one is doing more than AMD to make sure the peices are as correct as possible. They have many different people test fitting the peices on actual cars, and are addressing the issues to insure the customer gets the best possible product, before the peices are approved for final production.

Most panels require several stamping and bending processes to complete a fender. There are also several welded peices attached to the fender. The slightest variation in one or any step of the process can effect the fitment of the part. These new cars have eliminated all of the sub attachments that the cars of the seventies had attached to the fenders. They are no more than skins, held on with plastic hardware, that are simple to produce. Things like light fixtures are now connected to the grille/bumper assemblies not the fender like back in 1970. These parts are complex to reproduce, and most are templated from parts that have been on cars for 40 years. These parts have been stressed to the car they were on,and may have had repairs done to them over the years. I have had original fenders that fit fine on one car,and wouldn't align on a different car without modifying or tweaking them. Trying to make parts that you can take out of the box and bolt on everyones 40 year old cars, that have been bumped around, rotted and improperly repaired.is a daunting task. I'm glad companies like AMD have stepped up to the plate to make quality reproduction sheetmetal parts for our cars. I remember when there were no aftermarket sheetmetal parts available for Mopars.

There was a guy on here saying the edge of the fender where it meets the hood on the Goodmark fenders was off quite a bit. Enough that it required cutting it and welding up a gap to straighten it.

I'm not a body man and know absolutly nothing about metal work so I'm just going by what I was told. The hood was higher than the fender in the center. This was what was done to fix it. The fender was bolted right to the inner fenders though. I know the factory used shims. Maybe shimming it would have been the right way to do it...if that would have even fixed the problem. Anyway...it all looks good now so I can't complain.

Heres a couple pics of goodmark fenders where I did a little work at the top back. I also used a goodmark hood and did a little tweaking on the bow of the hood to fenders. But over all I think they fit well and look great in the end.

The factory did not shim E body fenders where they bolt to the inner fenders. They put a bead of sealer down and directly bolted them to the inner fenders. They shimmed the back of the fender where it bolts to the bracket that bolts to the side of the cowl.
The 71 I took apart had shims along with seam sealer. It looked factory to me.

I have had over twenty E bodies, and I never had any with shims in that area. Maybe they had an issue with your car on the assembly line, getting the fender to align,or maybe you car was repaired by a body shop sometime in its lifetime.
