Broke my driveshaft at the end of last year, checked motor and trans waiting on new shaft and yokes should get high 9's. These heads were ported when I brought them has had valve spring pocket work, clearence for push rods and bowl work. No flow #. JohnRR I Win Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 75,060 U.S.S.A.	unless the yare Chapman CNC they need a lot of work to get them to their potential. you need to check everything on them , machining operations had no QC , I have a casting that when you put it on the dowel pins on the block only 2 heads bolts will thread into the block. Best would be to find a good used set that have already been fixed .

At the time they were the ONLY moderately priced aluminum big block head..... but the time you got them fixed and hopefully didn't get a porous set you usually had more into them that you ever wanted. I've seen a few sets go nines and mine have helped my Mirada go 10.0's at 134. Dwayne Porter is THE MAN for the stage VI heads, although he does laugh that people still call him and ask about them...... there are so many better choices out there now.

maximum entropy master M Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 5,080 organ	the mp stage 6's have some interesting design compromises. the valves are too short, the valve spring pockets are too deep, and there were some qc issues early on. the short valves and deep spring pockets restrict the port shape going into the bowl (the roof of the port is low and can't be raised). there are plenty of eddies running nines, maybe even eights, prolly. Those issues on the Stage 6's can be addressed , they were on the heads we ran on the EM470.
