68 GTX 440 auto. Has an Eddy performer intake with 800 Eddy carb. Hood clearence was fine. Installed the under hood insulation pad and it hit's the air cleaner now. Anyone else had this setup and this issue? I'm useing a K&N filter. The shorter of the 2 listed in Summit for a 440. Any one know the number for a shorter filter? Mine is 2.75 tall. I think 2.25 would give me enough room. Summit doesn't show a 2.25 in correct diameter. I'll go to a regular Fram filter if anyone knows a good part number. The hood pad is killing the pie tin. And NO i'm not gonna lose the hood pad.

As far as the Pie tin. Some people carry a spare in the trunk and put it on at shows or cruises when the car sits with the hood open.

I was just looking at the Summit air cleaners last night.
I saw that they list two 14" x 2" reusable filters. A K&N and their own label.

Incidently, I'm a cheap %^$* and I needed a 14 x 2.
I got a Mr. Gasket paper element filter from Advance Auto for about 7 - 8 bucks.

Here's a foam one:

Does 14 inch fit the 68 style air cleaner?
