is .025-.030 between each bolt to bolt(pair of rockers) side clearance acceptable for a street/strip 340 stroker with(x-heads),rockers are 1.5 ratio h/s.the bolt holes in the head are 5/16 dia and the shafts are 3/8 hole dia.so im able to shift them some side to side.i centered the rollers on the shafts,snug then down,lightly tapped them back forth to get the .025-.030 clearances,does this sound good?or should i shim between the holdowns some for tighter clearances?thanks mike

I always use .015 for the clearance... if the heads
are off the engine you might want to drill and tap
them for 3/8 unless your running low spring pressure

Harlan Sharp calls for .008-.012 side to side that is straight of there instruction sheet that came with my rockers

spring pressure is 500# open pressure can is solid roller.

with that much clearence you will dump a lot of oil

i just primed the motor with cordless drill to check oiling to the top end,it had 65+ psi oil pressure with brad penn break in oil,and yes there is alot of oil to the top side.

I have my oil feed restricted going up top because of so much oil.
