Hello,

Dudek's motor blows that away thru exhaust manifolds. He is over 800 hp. I just don't remember what fuel they run.

Damon

Last I read it was around 650

With out super tuning her my HEMI made 800HP. Should be around 650 at the tires..

i dont know how the old boss manifolds look but if they are anywhere near a 426s flowwise i dont doubt a boss9 can make just as much power if the induction and exhausts is up to it,thats where the big ? is.. those boss9motors can make a ton of power but may not be a popular alternative to a 426 in FAST since they make a 426 look like a very comon gardenvariaty 318engine in terms of how many where built..

back to topic thats some impressive numbers Kaase is a very sharp enginebuilder!

our own overinflated egos more seriusly we are not going to get someone to design any more and better stuff as long as all we are doing is complaining about the good stuff being to expensive anyway...
and whats wrong with the 590cam and 906heads?
but there is some very good builders out there that builds moparengines that makes good power

700HP from that boss motor? whoop-tee-doo...heck, Ryan J just made 660 HP on pump gas with a fairly non-exotic small block

FWIW When I spoke to Jon @ last years EMC he told me that the Boss engine was not very competitive. He was right if you call 6th (in the money) not competitive. He won with his trusty 400m CHI head SBF. They are nice heads but to me it's not a real biggie. I would build a Pred head 528 anyday and kill a BOSS 9. J.Rob

They are not best head ever designed, but damn they are COOOOOL looking. If I was ever to do a non Mopar for one of my own vehicles, A '69 Boss 429 Mustang would be near the top of my list... Those jesel rockers are impressive looking chunks of aluminum.

A Boss 429 Mustang is truly a beast. I have been tinkering on one for a customer for a few weeks. From the Detroit Locker to the bad azz hood scoop, it's just a work of automotive art -both visually and sensory. They are a royal PITA to work on though! I will post a pic of it tomorrow, if I remember.

I worked with Jon Kaase's shop on a recent project. Good group of guys down there. A lot of talent.

Jon has admitted straight up that the Boss9 heads are not intended to be a race head. They do work well and it is great that they will work on a standard 429/460 block, but they are definitely overshadowed by the *real* race heads available for the BBF. Stuff like the A & B 441 hemi heads and the A460, C466, D460, E460, Profiler and Blue Thunder heads exist to fill that market.

That being said, I wouldn't mind having a set on my 545 though!
