I am having my 72 Dart miinitubbed to the stock frame rails. The guy doing it has asked me to buy the aftermarket tubs as this is the way he likes to do it.
I need to know what size tubs (front to back) fits in A-Bodies best. I have measured 33" long. So I was thinking of ordering the 34"ers because they will fit with room to adjust.
Also anyone got pics of aftermarket tubs in a stock floor and framed car?

For the small amount of tub you could stuff in there , I don't see this as being very beneficial.
I used around 80 inches of 3" X .060 cut in 12 to 15 inch strips and got about as much room as you're gonna get in there.
It would be easier and probably cost about the same to buy a Chi com bead roller and make your own tubs , because you will be cutting away most of any aftermarket tub that I am aware of.

I realize that, but he is giving me a great deal.. pactically free tubbing job and he prefers to do it this way. I have never done a tub job, let alone any "real" welding, so I will go his way. I found a place that has 16ga fully tig welded tubs 32", 34, and 36" for $129.

I've got aftermarket tubs in my valiant that's tubbed to the frame rails. I think the smallest you can get is 36" at Summit and Jegs, that's what i've got at least. Unfortunately i don't have any pics of the install...-Andy

I like the idea of that, I plan on lowering the car for a meaner stance. I would love to see some pics when you can.

Bigtime, I like the sharp corners of your trunk.

Get the bigger tubs and get as close to the package shelf as possible. Mine were too small and too low at first and the tires rubbed the top of the tub on bumps. SS springs,2" lowering blocks, 11.5x29.5 Phoenix.

that's exactly how mine is set up. i also folded the lip on the frame rail. some cut it off, i preferred to leave it and fold it up to form a flange for added purchase with the tubs, and keep the rails as strong as possible (they're not very thick). you'll be able to fit surprisingly large rubbah. i have 16.5 inches between the frame and fender. is your car caged? the stock wheel houses are a structural element, and i wouldn't replace them with tubs if the car isn't caged.

I am not caged, that is the reason why I am going with 16ga instead of the summit 24ga metal.

the stock wheel houses triangulate the sail panels, the frame, the outer fender, and the sill bar. it's amazing how flabby the whole thing gets when you pull them out. maybe someone has done it without a cage and has a way?

Good point! i forgot to mention that if you're thinking of putting aftermarket tubs in the car, it'd better have at least a roll bar in it. The factory wheel tubs (outer section at least) tie the whole back of the car together.

I thought the aftermarket tubs are not supposed to be welded to the quarters ???
