Having problems with my MSD 6al rev limiter. When i isntall a pill the car breaks up very bad at anything over say 2k rpm. I tried a 6700 pill, 6500,etc.

Anyone ever have this problem before? Take the pill out and it revs to the moon

Yep and it was followed by a new replacement box.

Any possible way it got moved off the 8 cylinder mark

I was afraid of that.... The tech at MSD said, IF the box starts the car, theres NOUTING wrong with it.

I didnt know you could change a 6al from 4 ,6,and 8 cyl. Wheres that feature?

Its the little round black nickle size button on the side, but if yours has it someone would of had to of moved it clearly.

Borrow a friends box and see how it works

Well, i checked the plug in the back ,and i doubt anyone touched that unless someone from msd did. Its screwed in .

Plus if it was on 4 or 6 cyl wouldnt it run like crap? My warranty is up,even though this box has only been in the car for a few weeks. I had it rebuilt by msd and put it on the shelf as a spare, but its been sitting for over a year unused..

Guess a new box is cheaper then rebuilding a motor!
