Ready to order dist. and ignition system. Was wondering who to go with? What ignition do you reccomend? This is a trans brake application, so i will need rev. limiter.

I dont know much about Rich's dist (Firecore) yet but
I might look into it but the MSD is hard to beat AND
if you do have any problems at the track you are more
likely to get parts from one of the guys or at the
local hot rod shop for MSD.... I used some Mallory
stuff when I first built my car and had issues with
it and the company said I was abusive to it... its
in a race car... what did they think... they were
no help at all so thats when I trashed out their system
and changed over to MSD

We went MSD 10 years ago in both cars.Never a problem. The kids has the MSD 6 with adjustable rev limiters. Its not a lot more than the 6al.The 7 is pretty much for a full race car.Rocky

I got a good deal on a Mallory mech advance dist and used it in my 63. It uses the same pick-up as the Mopar dist and works great for my mild combo. Has many adjustments for the mech advance and I like it. MSD is a great ign all around but the Mallory dist I use works great for me. Ron

Our new mechanical distributors are the new standard. They are the only ones that can boast about zero degree's retard at 8800 rpm. They are the only housings that are hot-forged. They are the highest quality that do do not necessitate any grinding of your heads to fit. They have a Chrysler-style lockout. Our new cd coils are one step below the MSD HVC2 coils, but nearly $100 cheaper. We spec'ed them to drive up to an MSD 7 box. Please google FireCore50 to read up on our wires. Thanks for the opportunity..
