I googled for quite a while now - and cannot find a shop (online pref.) that sells them .

The brake warning light socket (in instrument cluster) is different from the others (turn and high beam) - it has TWO WIRES (ground and power) and is isolated against the cluster. It's a 5/8" type.

After all these years having a 440 I realized that this means having an attitude... and a budget.

Robert,

You are not going to find that socket as a re-pop. The best you could do is splice one onto your existing wiring. Do you still have the socket on the harness but it is broken? If the socket is missing, do you have enough length to make a splice onto the two (dark blue and gray) wires?

I will do some checking and see what I can come up with for you.

THANKS!

The socket is missing.

I have wires with enough length - I had to replace them since they were burnt (any pre-owner soldered the two together - with the result that one can expect).

I find sockets everywhere with only the power wire and grounding over the bracket - but no with grounding as second wire. I'm not looking for original looking stuff, just a 2-wire, 5/8" bulb socket...

Could you solder a wire to the metal part and make it two wire?

It should work...

Robert,

I found the correct two conductor socket with about 4" of wire length from a parts wiring harness.
Send me your shipping address via a PM or to my email address and it's yours.
