I really do not think it matters, but I could be wrong if you have been reading anything I have posted this week , think I have always seen blue on top though .

It is very true that it doesn't matter but I think that you will find that one wire is longer than the other and the fit will be better if you use the longest wire to the farthest field terminal.

the harness usually takes a set and I let it lie where it wants and hook the wires up as they lie. You don't want to but any stress on the wiring, otherwise it will quickly fail.
