Will tire spin kill your mph in the1/4 mile?

it depends on where it is spinning I have seen tire spin on the starting line have better MPH than when it dead hook, this is on a slower car that runs low elevens I have a friend who races a twin turbo car that has spun the tires at the 1000 FT mark bad enough that he had to lift which did affect the MPH Any time you have to lift the throttle is going to affect MPH and ET

Depends on how bad you spin, but usually mph will go up slightly.

If my old car spun it would have a higher MPH. If it dead hooked a 1.36 60 the MPH would be 134. If it spun on the line it could be as high as 137.MPH...Phill

Yes, if you can spin them the entire 1/4 mile Seriously, A small amount of tire spin will have very little effect on your MPH and can actually improve it if you are under geared.

Thanks. Ya when I went to the track I had tire spin through every gear. Off the line spin hit second it grabbed but as the rpm climbed they started to spin and the same through 3rd and 4th
