Has anyone ever ported a set of 516 heads using the Mopar templates? If so what were your results?

Thanks in advance..........Ted

There used to be a long and informative post in the archives dealing with ported 516 and 906 heads. Lot of interesting reading in that one if it's still around. Dwayne Porter wrote it, IIRC.

no idea how to do it, but I have 516's with 2.14/1.81's and the flow really well. I have the numbers in the garage but I think it's like 270/190 @ .500

The templates worked fine. I did a set a while ago. First I had the machine shop do a 75 degree throat cut in the pockets. a lot of metal came out and saved me work. Install a 1.74 exhaust valve. Those heads are 84cc from the factory, will give you a slight increase in compression, but you can use them for a quench motor build. Put in on paper first. If it cost too much there are better options!
