I have a 68 Charger with a stock 383 four barrel. My stock 906 casting have broken casting where the valve cover fasten on the ends of the heads. I have a set of 452 casting I would like to put on the motor. Are there any issues to be concerned with here? Will these heads affect the compression ratio? It is not real high now.

Thanks,

hi
take them to your local machine shop and have them cut .020 "

3 angle valve job , check guides for wear , new seals

use the stel shim head gasket .019" thick

now you got better than 906 as they have hardened ex seats to use with todays gas !

The answer to the question is.....The chamber size of these 2 heads are about the same. If you decide to just replace one head, make sure to use the same thickness head gasket.
The previous response makes sense. I would follow the advice and burn some rubber!

452's are pretty much a 906 with hardened valve seats. I'd do a valve job and run them.

A real man would never be caught in a "BOWTIE" !!

Like mentioned same heads basically. Take them have have them checked out. If you mill them you can pump your compression some. This would be a good time to do some upgrades. Intake, carb, headers,,,,,

Most of the time they all mean the same....Cut, Milled, Shaved, Machined........
