The thing about " kid " bikes is that they rarely hit the market and hold their value extremely well.
I bought a new Yamaha PW 80 in 1998 for my oldest nephew to learn on.
After seven years , five nephews and countless neighborhood kids learning to ride on it and much trail riding , I sold it.
It was a little rough looking by that point , but my 1,100.00 toy still fetched 800.00 and the guy was glad to pay it.
That little turd is probably still running today.
Can't say the same for the XR 100 that replaced it , but I will eventually get that one running again.
It got over revved.........valve into piston and a long push home.
But I have had it bored , new valves and timing chain.........and valve springs
It is amazing much abuse they can take and how they hold their price.
I never gave it much thought , but if the 100 or the Yamaha TTR 125 L are still in the stable , I will be pit bike rich.
And they are a lot more practical than the Husqvarna 260 WXE , TE 410 or Honda XR 600 for track side use.
