ive had a couple of 68-71 a-body non rally dash, standard dash clusters, that didnt have lites in the dash cluster for the turn signal arrows if the car had fender or hood mounted turnsignals

has anyone else seen this on other A or B body instrument clusters?

+ if so from what exact car were they in?

I know they're located in the speedometer, just over center, below the numbers, don't recall seeing any without t/s lights.

My Dad had a '67 Valiant Signet with fender mounted signals. As you found, it did not have sockets/bulbs mounted in the dash cluster. I added them and both worked in parallel just fine.

On my '68 - '70 B-bodies, both fender & cluster indicators worked, as they did on my '74 Duster and Dad's '66 Sport Fury & '71 Imperial. Whether someone added the bulbs to the Duster's otherwise stock cluster, I don't know.

my 68 coronet R/T with standard dash and fender top indicators has the lights in the dash but they do not operate when the turn signals are activated.

I had 41k survivor 69 Coronet sedan with light group and it did not have sockets in cluster

I had a new 66 Sport Fury and a new 68 Sport Fury both had fender lights and no inside indicators, also had a 68 Imperial Crown and it was lit up the same

Weird. Are you guys with no cluster indicators sure they weren't burned out? There were no bulbs at all? FWIW, all my B-body RRs (except one LA car without fender indicators) were St. Louis cars. I don't recall where the Sport Fury, Imperial, or Duster were built.

actually I never looked into it, I read somewhere that fender top indicators equated to no dash indicators so I never pursued any further.

On My mother's one owner 68 Road Runner with fender lights, there were no dash signal lights.
She took it in to have it worked on at a service station for some other reason, and they added the lights.
I don't know if it had the sockets or not.

One of the Valiant's build sheets that was attached to the glove box and the fender mounted turn signal option was circled in red crayon. Dave Stuart found the information and realized that it was called out to inform the person building the cluster to exclude the sockets and bulbs from the instrument panel. The Valiant has fender mounted turn signals and no "blinking arrows" in the dash!
