Some thing along the likes of a 50-60 series tire and no short side wall.
Okay but 50 series is a short sidewall.
Anhyhow 255/60-15's will fit under all four corners with no trouble. Never tried bigger myself personally. 275/60-15's will go on the back with no trouble but I'd think they would limit steering travel if in the front. 235/60-15 on 15x7 cop wheels look stock under them to me.

255/60R15s on a 15x7 or 15x8 rim. Ran that on both my 83 doba and 79 diplomat. 275/60s may rub in the back, they did on my diplomat with the stock cop wheels (inside the wheel well)
275/60s definitely won't fit in front.

I'm running 255/50R17's on my 5th ave on all 4 corners with 5" backspace on an 8" wheel. I had to relocate the bracket for my brake hose forward about 1-1.5" or so, so the tire wouldn't rub the hose at full lock.
