440 block, Eagle crank, been together 3 years. Tore engine down, had mains turned .010, and align honed and put back together with same rear main seal. Primed engine on stand,(80 psi)& rear seal leaks, not the sides, just the seal. doesn't leak immediatley maybe a minute after i stop priming it, it will start dripping. I'm using a standard seal from Mancini Racing&10w-30 conventional oil.The seal is installed correctly, the lip facing inward. Could it be from having it align honed??

PSO headed 632 from MM. Cracked cylinder, loose valve seats, low oil pressure, low cylinder pressure.

All that time and money and you cheaped out on the rear main seal? ??

It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

I had a stock rear main seal retainer in last year that would start leaking after a couple minutes. put a billit retainer in and problem gone. figure the old stock one was warped and warping worese?
Re freshed the motor this spring and still no problems using just a stock mopar seal in it and I shift 76 to 7800.

The crush has changed...that's why I always put in a new rear main seal.

I always clean up the mating surface, taking just a few thousadths off. That way you know it is flat and will seal tight,

Here's a link to another post that may possibly help you out. Seal Retainer alignment is critical.

I offer a premium viton rear main seal made on the Chrysler OEM tooling.

Hmmm ... those instructions are word-for-word what comes with the 440Source retainer and seals.
Could it be that not all their stuff comes from China after all ?!?! That would certainly be a disappointment to many bashers!
