I have the stock dummy light on my 69 motor but want to put a hidden guage under the dash. Where is the best place to tap into a 426 street hemi to run my 1/8 plastic oil pressure hose. I didnt see any plugs to remove behind the intake like on my 440. This thing is a whole different animal that im not used to.

You should have two plugs at the back of the block behind the intake just like a 440. I would upgrade to a copper tube versus the plastic tube though.

there should be a plug right next to the factory sending unit. If its anything like mine, it's next to impossible to see behind the intake. You really have to jam your head back there to see it.

The pressure taps are at the back of the engine as the others have stated. DON'T use the nylon tubing. Use a length of #3 AN line that Auto Meter sells. It already has the proper ends to adapt to the gauge and the block fitting. They can be purchased in a few different lengths. You can also go with a modern electrical gauge setup. I find them to be pretty accurate as well.

If you have never seen what 80 PSI of hot oil will do to your engine compartment(or worse yet, your interior), you don't know what ugly is.

I find that whenever I need to work back in that area, it's just best to take the carbs off. That will give you a bit more room at that area when working over the top of the motor.

I'd go with a copper hose too. Don't use the plastic as it can melt with the hot oil. Good suggestions from everyone. Just put a new pressure gauge on my '70 Satellite and used copper on the advice from my Father-In-Law who had the plastic one melt on him. Yuk. Good luck on the resto.
