If you just want to fix it you can tack weld it with 5 or 6 good tacks

Thanks for the replies. This car has never seen salt even though I'm in Ohio. It looked like it had rocked around in there for a while and slightly egg shapped the whole. It may have been because I took out the upper snubbers trying to get more travel in the front end. It bangs around quite a bit being a stick-shift car (it does a little dinky wheelie then does it again when I hit second). I cut then snubbers in half and am going to re-install them. Anyway, I stuck a $14.00 Autozone ball joint in there and tacked it in the best I could. Should hold me till this winter, I may look at Bondo Bob's upper and lower control arms and have the k-frame lightened. Thanks again Mike

I have seen them get overtightened and stripped out.
