Couple weeks ago a dear friend of mine and a local legend for mopars, Richard Sanders was in a bad motor cycle wreck in Ashville, NC. He lost his right leg (below knee), broke his arms, shoulder and hip (real bad) bones were poking out of him all over. He has since after several surgeries and screws installed been put in a rehab center in columbia, SC. Richard was such a free spirited and "no fear" kind of guy. Helped me on my car alot. He has built many bad a** mopars over the years and he did it the old fashioned way. Also an awsome painter. He raced here local for yrs and everyone around here respected him and came to him for advise. He is very down and depressed, as is expected. Please guys pray for him and his family. I know if anyone can recover from this its Richard. He knows it will be hard to do what he loves to do again due to the loss of leg and a crushed hip. Lets hope he returns!!

prays go out to him and his family...he'll be back to his self once he feels better i bet.i had shoulder surgery (2) times now and got to have 1 more to replace it.i'm right handed and geuss what arm it is that needs to be replaced i cant left my arm over my shoulder cause it hurts to bad but hay if you want it you do it and go on..he'll get back you'll see freinds like you are what he need right now

Prayers are sent, recovery takes time. The harder he works the better he will get. Let him know there is a 52 year old guy that drives and races a boat with hand controls on moparts. He will be able to do all he did before . Maybe just a little different.

Our thoughts and prayers go out for Richard and his family, from all of us at Chris3 Racing. Takes time for these types of injuries to heal but he can be involved in the drag racing sport again and it just takes effort and the will to overcome. With prayers and support from his family and friends he can get through this.

he's had so many cars over the yrs. His most recent was a D50 pickup white with a 500ci engine and a mid 80's charger with a 400. He always built different cars you dont see at the track everyday. He was at "mopars at the rock" last year with the white D50.
