Redoing the brakes on my 71 Charger. I had just fixed a front brake on my 72 and the wheel seal looks like the one on the left, # 6840S (Timken and federal use the same #'s). So i ordered the new wheel seals for the 71 using the # 6840S and get the ones on the right. I went thru this when i fixed the 72. I ordered the correct # 8121S and got the style on the right so I returned it and got the # 6840S. Now both seals are coming thru like the seal on the right. The diameter is the same but it has that raised lip that sticks up 1/4" higher than the other style. Has anyone else used the one on the right? If I flush up the top of the seal to the back of the rotor it will set the bearing in an additional 1/4", not sure if that will be a problem, and I don't want to find out the hard way.
