My Cuda currently has run a best of 11.38 @ 117 mph. Coming up I am swapping my internals into a Resto block so that I can use a power adder without destroying the stock block. Based on my current time what would I expect to run on a 225-250 shot of nitrous assuming I hook and all goes well. Car is 3800 with me in it.

Well if you just blast a 250 shot with the way the engine sits it won't pick up as much if you tighten your converter up / better matched cam (wider centerline) etc.. looser ring gap! Your 11.38 is gonna slow down with a tighter converter also! Good luck Dave Also maybe you should re title the thread to get some of the big nitrous guys to set you up!

Also I think 4404dart on here goes 10.5 on motor and 8.8x with a 250 shot ... Maybe 300 can't remember but I'm pretty sure he is setup for big hits ... Maybe he will chime in !!!

As stated, your car ET's very well for the MPH, so you're going to have to go to a tighter converter......
I know a local guy that's got a Mustang set up for nitrous (tight converter and cam) that runs 11.30's on nuts and on his first pass with a clean, REAL 200 shot, ran 9.70's....
So, I'd guess your car with a tighter converter and that much spray would be in the 9's pretty easily......
If you can't handle the truth, you're living a lie.......

My 4300lb 440 combo went from 12.5 to 10.9 on a 250 hit........had my fair share of mishaps along the way..... balloned convertor which took out main bearings/crank , lifted ring lands on pretty much all pistons , blistered molly off the rings on most cylinders , snapped a couple of half shafts , tore the ring & pinion up , blew throttle plates off , set light to wiring along bulkhead , sheared front planetary gears , blew a core plug out..........seem to have a better handle on things these days.

A few things to think about when running the bottle , especially with heavy motors a bigger hits.

I went from 12.50s to 11.30s with a 125 shot with my dakota. I read on the bullet that a guy with a 90 mustang went from 11.30s to 9.70s with a 225 tune up from one of the nitrous gurus.

A 10 sec E-body with a smallblock, is a healthy ride and as such, will no doubt be convertered and geared correctly for it to run that way. That said, that same combo will not be nitrous friendly, for a larger hit, anyway. The converter will likely be way too loose and the rear gear, likely too steep. You simply can't have it both ways....ie runs balls out on motor and then be able to hose it heavily. You have to pick one or the other. If you build it for spray, it will likely be a turd on motor, because of the required tight converter and less gear. Go the other way and a decent sized hit, will blow right through the converter, plus put the car on the limiter in high gear. All that said, if the car goes low 11s and is properly put together to spray, it will easily run 9s on a 200-250 hit.

So if you have a n/a motor that runs good 10ohs. and you want to have a little added insurance of a win. Do you think your better off with a smaller kit 150 or so.

I was running a 94 ram 2wd with a 440 mild hyd cam 10-1 comp. a loose 9.5" 4000 G.E.R converter(junk to start with) and 4.10 gear. The truck was running 12.60's with a 1.734 60', put a nos super powershot with 150 jets and it ran a 1.54 60' 11.58 @ 118 mph. Throttle switch only spraying it full pass.

It honestly took a 36 nitrous jet in the fogger (350)for me to go 8.80's @ 158, that was at more or less 8000 ft DA, and a 10.5 on motor. This year it has gone 10 flat on motor, so I'm hoping for 8.60's this weekend, 1/8 mile mph is up from 125 to almost 130, so we'll see? I follow what Monte says, and agree that it is hard to have it both ways. I did not read everything and I'm sure it was mentioned, but be conservative on the timing to start off. I like my air/fuel meter and it gives me a place to start, but nothing can replace looking at the plugs, and getting some expert help on what your looking at. Sounds like you have some experiance already. It was about the time I started spraying 250 and more that the weak links started showing up, such as suspension, too loose a convertor, too much gear, weak fuel system etc. I think it will run a 9!
