Stuff like pan bolts, fender bolts, interior screws, etc.? Did they do any nickel plating (or any kind of plating) on fasteners like they do now? I assume they used some chrome in certain spots but did the hidden fasteners gat any corrosion treatment back in say, 66-74? If so what did they use?

Yes I'm pretty sure each fastner had some kind of plating. I have a Mopar fastner guide that has all the different platings used in it.

Don't take the time to run through the whole list but do you have some examples of a few items?

Black phosphate on some, yellow zinc, cad, etc. Just depended on the application and the design engineer.

The fastener guide has been a huge help to me. This is just a very general description.

The most common finishes are zinc(silver coating) zinc dichromate(yellow/gold coating) and phosphate.(gray coating)

A lot of interior screws were chrome. Most things attached to the firewall were zinc plated. A lot of the phosphate bolts were used underneith and for attaching bumpers exc...

Obviously, things will vary depending on year/body style exc...

Thanks. I'll have to see about getting that book. Mainly I was just curious how much of it really did get plated because I know some of it didn't. My second goal was to see if there's something a little more durable than zinc that looks about the same, like maybe electoless nickel.

A lot of parts were left bare but I'm pretty sure all of the fasteners would have had some type of sacrificial plating.

Zinc should hold up very well. Most of these cars arn't driven in harsh weather and salt like they once were. The plating should last a long time.

I disassembled an original '70 Challenger and found all the fastner types mentioned (black phosphate, zinc, zinc di-chromate, chrome). After many years, the black phosphate bolts may look "un-plated".

I found the fastener kits from "Mr G" in Texas to be quite accurate. Mr G also sells individual fasteners. His website may be a reference for you also.

I bought a couple different MR G interior screw kits back in 2004 and they were not even close alot of them. I still have them because I didn't use them. Hopefully he has gotten better nowadays. I wasn't impressed.

You mentioned nickel plating and chrome plating in the original post. No they didn't use those types of plating except on maybe interior screws, but most every other nut bolt or screw was protected with the types of treatments mentioned earlier from the original manufacturer. Some were then painted.
So the answer to the original question is yes.

I can't think of a single fastener on a mopar that didn't have some kind of plating
