Has anyone added a vac pump to 400" SB Gas motor with low tension ring pack. If so What gains if any did they see in E.T
Is it worth the money?

Thanks
Al

Don't know but without some vacuum in the engine it will be like puff the magic dragon with low tension rings.

It's worth the money to keep oil off the engine compartment! But I picked up .06 and it runs more consistant, oil free.

Thanks for the replies, as to the smoking issue i don't have that problem Thankfully. Oil leaking is not a issue either. It maybe because I have 4 breathers on it to help from building pressure in the block.

I like what I'm hearing about the pick up in ET.

Any of you have pic's of your SB with the Vac pump installed.

Thanks
Al

pumps are not used for solving any oil, leaks or smoking problems. their job is to create negative crankcase pressure. that keeps the pressure off the backside of the rings and promotes a much better ring seal. that's where the ioncrease in power comes from. using in conjunction with a low tension set of oil rings that reduce drag.the combination of the two makes moe power, when used with standard tension rings you will see less net results
